Sarah Montès earned a Bachelor’s degree in French with teaching endorsements in French and English Language Learners from Lawrence University (Appleton, Wisconsin) where she also studied cello at the esteemed Lawrence Conservatory. She later earned a Master’s of Arts degree in International Development from the University of Iowa. She has trained as a singer and a cellist from a young age and has a passion for music education. She has extensive freelance experience as a cellist. Her early career experiences as an educator led to her career in college advising and curriculum management in higher education. Ms. Montès is currently the Senior Associate Registrar for Curriculum Management and Graduation Analyst at Tulane University. A resident of New Orleans, Ms. Montès is married to conductor Dr. Jean Montes, with whom she shares two children.
