GNOYO Violinist Chad Harris graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School and will be attending George Washington University majoring in biomedical engineering and international business.
Chad’s favorite memory of GNOYO were the people she met each year. She enjoyed getting to know her stand partners and making friends, many of whom she is still close to today!
Chad shared the following about her experience in GNOYO, “GNOYO made me a much better musician through the very difficult pieces we had to learn. Each year I was surprised at how much progress I had made.”
Caleb Patterson, a GNOYO tuba player, is graduating from Brother Martin High School and will attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to pursue a degree in computer engineering. He also plans on continuing his career in music as a member of the University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland marching band!
Caleb shares that while in GNOYO, he “had to contend with much tougher music while having to relearn the way I played. It significantly helped my thrill with and affinity for music.”
His favorite GNOYO memory? “I’d have to say my favorite memory as a member of GNOYO was the trip to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall. I’ll never forget that experience and will cherish the memories and friendships made.”
Elianna Prince, a GNOYO violinist, is graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School and will be attending Louisiana State University to study kinesiology on a physical therapy track with a large scholarship and aid package. She plans on continuing to play violin after high school as well!
Elianna says that joining GNOYO helped her better her skills as a musician because of the different types of music and different levels of music played. She adds, “we also get to play alongside other great musicians which pushes me to work harder.”
Elianna’s favorite Gnoyo memory was making a bingo sheet of the things Music Director Dr. Montes’ says during rehearsal and seeing how many they can checkoff!
GNOYO violist Lillian Rousseau is graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School and will be attending the Rennesselaer Polytechnic Institute studying mathematics.
